It is not a news that for over 4months now, schools has been closed all over in Nigeria.
It has been reported that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state had on Saturday, August 29, announced that all the schools in the state would resume on September 21 which had gone round all over in the country.
Mustapha, the chairman of PTF, however, advised and urge the states to learn from the US experience where reopening of schools lead to high increase of the cases of COVID-19.
The chairman of the PTF, pushed forward how such haste escalated the COVID-19 management situation in some other countries.
The PTF doesn’t kick against this but we must learn from experiences in other countries where the reopening of schools lead to an increase of the pandemic.
He further stated that more sectors of the country’s economy may soon be reopened, as the nation would be entering a new phase of the eased lock-down.
Mustapha said the PTF would handle over its recommendations to President Muhammad which will determine how well school resumption should be accelerated.
