Man United dealt another injury blow.
Manchester United have been dealt a Luke Shaw injury blow, with the left-back suffering a hamstring issue vs Everton.
The Englishman was having a cracking game, rightly earning massive praise from the Old Trafford Faithful for a top display.
However, Shaw’s afternoon was, unfortunately, cut-short midway through the second half. At the time, it didn’t look like a serious problem. Though afterwards, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted he could be without his left-back for a ‘long time’.
This would be a massive injury blow for United, with the 25-year-old really emerging as a key star for Solskjaer’s side. It was his cross into Bruno Fernandes which started to turn the tide back in our favour. Now, this latest problem he’s suffered could be a lengthy one.
Again, Shaw’s injury record is far from ideal. Just when you think he’s getting over the worst of it, something like this happens. This time, though, it’s down to things completely out of his control.
It goes back to Solskjaer’s passionate post-match interview. The FA have done United absolutely no favours, now, we’re paying the price. I guess the only saving grace is that we’re now going into an international break, which gives Shaw a couple of weeks to try and get himself back fit…
This is exactly why squad depth is now more important than ever. This is exactly why Alex Telles was signed. Games are coming thick and fast while injuries were an inevitability.
Now, I guess we’ll really get to see what Telles can do as the last time Shaw had a serious hamstring problem, he missed months of football. Let’s hope this one isn’t as serious.
Get well soon, Luke!
