Anambra govt arrests couple for ravenous five-year-old daughter

The Anambra State authorities has arrested a pair for ravenous their five-year-old daughter over alleged witchcraft.

The state's Commissioner for Girls Affairs and Social Welfare Mrs. Ify Obinabo, instructed journalists on Thursday that the couple have been arrested at Adazi-Ani, Anaocha native authorities space of the state.

Obinabo mentioned the state authorities intervened within the case following experiences from the chairman of the transition committee in Anaocha LGA, Mr. Gerald Ozoh, and the state coordinator of Women of Good Governance, Mrs. Chinwe Uba.

The commissioner mentioned her major project was to guard the rights of each little one within the state and warranted that she wouldn't let the couple go free.

She mentioned: “The lady is receiving therapy on the hospital whereas her dad and mom could be handed over to the police for additional investigation.”

The mom of the lady, Mrs. Blessing Wosu, mentioned she obeyed her pastor's prophecy which revealed that the kid was a witch and didn't need to stay.

She mentioned: “It's our pastor who gave us a prophecy that she is a witch and doesn't need to stay. We have been instructed that she is answerable for her father's downfall in enterprise.”

Nonetheless, the husband, Michael Wosu, denied involvement within the little one's maltreatment.
