The Soft Target Soja – A Poem by Chidozie Chukwubuike

The Soft Target Soja

By

Chidozie Chukwubuike

Hide your face in shame

Bloody soft target Soja.

When your mates were afield

Learning the art of combat

And training in military manoeuvres,

You spent scarce man-hours

In lecherous domestic manoeuvres;

Leading operations in the bedrooms of your fallen comrades…

With their widows spread-eagle in total surrender.

Now combat is upon you,

Civilian bandits dare you to a gun duel.

A war foretold shouldn’t claim the cripple

Yet, you, soft target Soja,

Fell face up in surrender

Just like those widows of your penile exploits…

Except that yours is eternal.

Rest, Insidious Penis (RIP)…

Rest, soft target Soja.

But your misfortune becomes calamity

As your soft target comrades

Crawling out of their holes of cowardice

Advance in shameful reprisal at harmless spectators.

And in pretentious rage

Point monstrous barrels

At petrified spectators…

The blast that signs the treaty of eternal silence

Also forever muffled their plea of innocence.

To have seen is a grave offence punishable by death.

And the hunt must continue for every eye that witnessed the shame of the soft target ‘hero’.
