Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen was linked with a move to English Premier League side Manchester United in the summer, but the move failed to materialise, due to some reasons.
The Super Eagles star had a stunning season with Napoli in the last campaign as he led them to their first Scudetto in over three decades.
Osimhen's performance for the Partenopei caught the eyes of several top clubs in Europe, especially Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester United.

The former Lille star opted to stay in Italy, and has scored three goals in the Italian Serie A this season.

Why Osimhen did not join Manchester United
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano during Monday's Debrief podcast for Caughtoffside, reveals why the Red Devils missed out on signing the Nigerian international.
“With the takeover, they may have had the chance to go for superstar players, there were links with players like Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, but it wasn't possible with their financial situation,” he said.”This could have been an issue, links for that kind of player couldn't materialize, and they had to go with a different strategy.”
Romano also confirmed that he does not have any news about some players rejecting a move to Erik ten Hag's side.
“I don't have any news on the players rejecting United because of the takeover, it's something normal in football,” he added.
How Chelsea can sign Osimhen
Naijafreshgist earlier reported that English Premier League side Chelsea are planning on pricing Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen away from Napoli next summer.

According to reports in football.london, Chelsea are ‘dreaming' of signing the Super Eagles striker from Napoli in the near future.
The Super Eagles striker has less than two years on his contract with Napoli, and if not extended, Chelsea could land the 24-year-old striker for a bargain price, according to Il Mattino.
