The Nationwide Meeting Election Petition sitting in Abeokuta, State, on Thursday, upheld the victory of the senator representing Ogun West District, , within the February 25 election.

The Peoples Democratic Celebration () candidate within the district, Dada Adeleke, challenged Adeola's victory within the election over alleged and non-compliance with the Electoral Act within the conduct of the train by the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral (INEC).

Adeola, who represented the All Progressives Congress () within the election, is the chairman of the senate committee on appropriation.

In its ruling on Thursday, the three-man panel led by Justice Kabir Gabo dismissed the candidate's petition for lack of benefit.

The tribunal held that the 2 witnesses referred to as by the petitioner failed to offer legitimate proof to substantiate the allegations of electoral and non-compliance with the electoral act throughout the train.

It additionally awarded N500,000 towards Adeleke in favour of Adeola.
