
Tribunal upholds Adeola's election in Ogun West

The Nationwide Meeting Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Thursday, upheld the victory of the senator representing Ogun West District, Solomon Adeola, within the February 25 election.
The Peoples Democratic Celebration (PDP) candidate within the district, Dada Adeleke, challenged Adeola's victory within the election over alleged fraud and non-compliance with the Electoral Act within the conduct of the train by the Unbiased Nationwide Electoral Fee (INEC).
Adeola, who represented the All Progressives Congress (APC) within the election, is the chairman of the senate committee on appropriation.

In its ruling on Thursday, the three-man panel led by Justice Kabir Gabo dismissed the PDP candidate's petition for lack of benefit.
The tribunal held that the 2 witnesses referred to as by the petitioner failed to offer legitimate proof to substantiate the allegations of electoral fraud and non-compliance with the electoral act throughout the train.
It additionally awarded N500,000 towards Adeleke in favour of Adeola.
